=========================================

<div class="article-date"> Sep 09, 2026 <span style="margin: 0 8px; color: rgba(255,255,255,0.3);">|</span> <span style="color: rgba(255,255,255,0.4);">Hawadet Studio</span> </div> </div></div><div class="article-content-wrapper"><div class="blog-content">A white-label animation studio is a studio your agency commissions to carry out an animation job for its client, so that it works behind the scenes and the agency presents the work under its own name. It suits an agency that gets this kind of project only now and then and whose volume does not justify a permanent production department, or one that needs extra capacity in busy seasons. It rests on three things: a written confidentiality and rights agreement, an organised production line, and clarity about who talks to whom.

This guide is for marketing and advertising agencies considering the model. We describe what it is, how it runs and its benefits and risks, from the agency's side, and we give no figures on margins or prices because each follows your project. For the confidentiality clauses specifically read [choosing a studio to work under an NDA for your agency](/en/blogs/choosing-production-studio-ad-agency-projects), and for the comparison between external and in-house [external studio or in-house team](/en/blogs/benefits-outsourcing-animation-studios-businesses).

<div style="background: #f8f9fa; border-left: 4px solid #7c3aed; padding: 25px; border-radius: 12px; margin: 35px 0; box-shadow: 0 4px 15px rgba(0,0,0,0.05); color: #1a202c;">### 📊 White-label work: four points

- <span style="font-size: 1.4rem; line-height: 1.2;">🎭</span> <span style="font-size: 1.1rem; line-height: 1.6; color: #4a5568;">**The agency is the front:** It deals with the client and presents the work under its own name, and the studio carries it out behind.</span>
- <span style="font-size: 1.4rem; line-height: 1.2;">📉</span> <span style="font-size: 1.1rem; line-height: 1.6; color: #4a5568;">**A variable cost:** You pay when there is a project instead of fixed salaries and equipment, but compare the scope, not the figure alone.</span>
- <span style="font-size: 1.4rem; line-height: 1.2;">🔒</span> <span style="font-size: 1.1rem; line-height: 1.6; color: #4a5568;">**Confidentiality in writing:** No contact with the client, portfolio rights and ownership of the files, all in the contract.</span>
- <span style="font-size: 1.4rem; line-height: 1.2;">🧭</span> <span style="font-size: 1.1rem; line-height: 1.6; color: #4a5568;">**Quality control:** A sample and stages approved in writing, since your responsibility to your client does not pass to the studio.</span>

</div>When does this model suit an agency?
------------------------------------

<div class="blog-table-wrap"><table class="table table-bordered"><thead><tr><th>The agency's situation</th><th>Does it suit?</th><th>Why</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Intermittent animation projects</td><td>Usually yes</td><td>A variable cost instead of a permanent team idle some months</td></tr><tr><td>Busy seasons beyond your team's capacity</td><td>Yes</td><td>Temporary extra capacity without hiring</td></tr><tr><td>Continuous, heavy production all year</td><td>Needs working out</td><td>An in-house team may come level over time</td></tr><tr><td>A kind of work that needs a specialism (children's, historical, educational)</td><td>Yes, provided it is specialised</td><td>A specialised studio knows the challenges of the kind</td></tr><tr><td>A project needing daily presence at your end</td><td>No</td><td>Remote work needs written stages, not presence</td></tr><tr><td>A client who does not accept an outside provider</td><td>Depends on the contract with them</td><td>Check first what you committed to your client</td></tr></tbody></table>

</div>The model does not assume it is always cheaper; a studio's cost is variable and may exceed an in-house team if demand becomes regular. The comparison is built on the real number of minutes per year and the kind of work. For price and what sets it read [animation prices in Egypt](/en/blogs/motion-graphics-video-prices-2026-comprehensive-guide).

How does it work in practice?
-----------------------------

1. **A written brief from the agency:** the audience, goal, length, style, language, values and references.
2. **Sign a confidentiality and rights agreement before any file:** with the clauses that the article linked above spells out.
3. **A short sample:** a test scene for your project that shows the style and the studio's keeping to notes.
4. **Stages approved in writing:** script, then storyboards, then animatic, then animation, then sound, then delivery. The detail of the boards and animatic stages is in [storyboard and animatic](/en/blogs/animatics-storyboard-studio).
5. **One channel of communication:** one person from the agency and one from the studio, so notes do not branch.
6. **Final delivery with no marks:** in the formats and source files agreed.

Benefits and risks
------------------

<div class="blog-table-wrap"><table class="table table-bordered"><thead><tr><th>Aspect</th><th>The benefit</th><th>The risk and how to ease it</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Cost</td><td>Variable, following projects</td><td>An unwritten scope swells the bill: write the scope and the revision rounds</td></tr><tr><td>Capacity</td><td>Temporary expansion without hiring</td><td>Stages slipping: a schedule with approval points and a sample</td></tr><tr><td>Focus</td><td>The agency frees itself for the client and the idea</td><td>You lose execution know-how: keep a coordinator who understands the stages</td></tr><tr><td>Confidentiality</td><td>Protects your relationship with your client</td><td>Leak or direct contact: no-contact and portfolio clauses</td></tr><tr><td>Quality</td><td>A specialism you may not have</td><td>Variation between projects: a style guide and character sheets</td></tr><tr><td>Ownership</td><td>Can be agreed in your favour</td><td>Muddle after success: write it before the start</td></tr></tbody></table>

</div>What do you agree before starting?
----------------------------------

- Who owns the final video and the source files, and when the rights pass.
- Whether the studio may name or show the work, and with what permission.
- Who actually carries it out, and whether subcontractors are allowed and under what obligations.
- The revision rounds at each stage and the definition of rework.
- What happens if your approval is late or the studio is late.
- The voice and the dialect and who performs, and whether a voice sample is approved before recording.
- Keeping and deleting the materials after the project ends.

And before you accept any project of this kind, ask yourself: can I explain to my client clearly who will carry it out, when and in what stages? If you cannot, the problem is in the brief, not in the studio.

Common mistakes
---------------

- **Relying on a quote with a single price:** and no scope or revisions.
- **Handing over the client's materials before the agreement is signed:** so you lose your strongest bargaining card.
- **Overlooking voice and dialect:** so the work is weak before your client's audience.
- **Assuming your responsibility to the client passes to the studio:** it is always yours.
- **Leaving communication open:** so notes multiply and contradict.
- **Changing the brief during execution:** so it becomes priced rework.

Suppose an agency whose client wants a short introductory clip, a kind of request that does not recur there. It writes a brief, signs a confidentiality and rights agreement, asks for a sample, approves the stages in writing, then delivers the work to the client under its own name. This is a hypothetical example to show the method, not something that happened.

Where does Hawadet stand on this model?
---------------------------------------

Hawadet Studio is an early-stage Arabic animation studio, and most of what we make is original work of our own. We can work with a partner on a joint project under a written agreement that says who owns what, and what concerns confidentiality and naming the work is settled in that agreement. We do not advertise this model as a ready service with a price list, so if your agency has a particular project, begin with a brief and we will discuss the fit before any commitment.

Our path is successive stages reviewed before delivery under a flexible revision policy within a scope agreed in advance. We learned that rushing the foundation to save time was the biggest mistake that forced us to redo work, so we advise any agency to give writing and boards their time. Our work is on the [projects page](/en/projects).

Frequently Asked Questions
--------------------------

### Does the studio contact my client directly?

It should not unless the contract allows it. Write an explicit clause barring the studio from contacting your client or naming them, and fix one channel of communication.

### How do I make sure the dialect fits my client's audience?

Decide the dialect or simplified standard Arabic early, ask for a voice sample from a performer who masters the dialect before full recording, and have the dialogue reviewed by a native speaker from the target audience.

### What kinds of work suit white-label?

Work whose scope and revisions can be set in writing, such as an explainer, an introductory clip, educational content or a short series. Work whose scope cannot be set needs time in the brief first.
